The Ellendale Economic Development Authority (EDA) and CEDA team member Heather Holmes worked to distribute $50,629 to local businesses through their CARES Act Small Business Relief Program. The funds assisted nine businesses, including nonprofit organizations. The businesses included; 2 Doves Boutique, Community Foundation of Ellendale, Budget Tax Solutions, Floors-4-U, Brekke Construction Inc, First Lutheran Church, Reiss Plumbing & Heating, Vibrant Life Assembly of God, and Ellendale Area Heritage Society.
In addition to the locally allocated CARES money, the Ellendale EDA worked closely with Steele County to provide additional funds totaling $29,500 to local businesses that warranted assistance including the Ellendale Café, RJ’s on 5th Ave Bar & Grill, Vibrant Life Assembly of God, and 2 Doves Boutique. with County applications for additional funding.
“Businesses have been struggling to survive through this unprecedented time.” Said Scott Groth, Ellendale City Council member and Chair of Ellendale EDA board. “We were happy to be able to provide financial support through the CARES Act and hope to continue working with the County on any new funding that may be available.”
