Lester Prairie had its beginnings when the Great Northern Railroad built its line in December of 1886.
The City of Lester Prairie was founded in 1886 and named in honor of Mrs. Maria Lester and her family who settled here. Prairie for the little prairie on which is was situated, surrounded by heavily wooded land.
Jim Langborg
Jim recently relocated from the West Coast and brings more than three decades of experience in local government. He has served over ten years at the department head level, with a strong background working in small and rural communities. Jim holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and is a proud United States Air Force veteran. Outside of work, he enjoys DIY home projects and traveling to historic destinations.
