Another very fun event is our Prairie Winds Kite Fly, held annually at the Jackson Municipal Airport. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first Saturday following Labor Day. A growing number of visitors attend this family day of fun. Professional kite flyers from several states participate and are out in full force with an array of giant show kites for an amazing sky display! Children are able to create their own sled kites to fly and our own Kite Doctor is also on hand to help mend broken kites. You don’t have a kite or want something new? No worries! Kites are available for purchase at the site. Join us for colorful skies, music and food available by area concessions.
